United States – The United States of America billionaire, Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency, backed by President Donald Trump, said it has successfully terminated 586 wasteful contracts across 10 federal agencies in the US.
DOGE disclosed this in a statement on Saturday its official X account.
According to the DOGE, the terminated contracts have a ceiling value of $2.1 billion.
The agency noted that with the development, the US government has saved $445 million.
It further cited an example of an $8.2M US Department of Agriculture contract for environmental compliance among the terminated contracts.
“Roses are red, violets are blue.
“Today, DOGE and 10 agencies made 586 wasteful contracts bid adieu!
“With a ceiling value of $2.1B and $445M in savings secured, a perfect Valentine’s gift for all taxpayers—well-earned and deserved!
“Today’s batch includes an $8.2M USDA contract for ‘environmental compliance services for the implementation of pilot projects developed under the partnership for climate smart commodities’”, it wrote.
Trump’s administration backed DOGE, aimed at cutting costs of governance and fraud, and had spearheaded reforms in the US federal agencies in the past weeks.
