Troops Eliminate Two Boko Haram Commanders, Seven Others in Borno

Maiduguri, NigeriaTroops of the Joint Task Force, North East Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), supported by the Air Component, have killed nine Boko Haram insurgents, including two top commanders, during clearance operations in Borno State.

The operations, which took place between August 21 and 22, successfully foiled planned terrorist attacks in Bita and Wulgo, according to a reliable military source who spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

“The terrorists were neutralized during a fierce gun battle in the Wulgo axis,” the source confirmed.

Recovered items from the scene included several AK-47 rifles, a large quantity of ammunition, and six motorcycles used by the insurgents.

The Defence Headquarters commended the troops for the successful mission and urged them to maintain the momentum in the ongoing counter-insurgency operations across the North East.
