Following an extensive five-day search effort, rescue officials in Lagos State have located the body of Tajudeen Amololo, a drainage worker who tragically lost his life while on duty.
The distressing incident occurred as Amololo was engaged in cleaning operations within a drainage system located at the Onipanu Bus Stop in Fadeyi, Lagos. It was during this task that he became ensnared within an underground tunnel.
Since the worker’s disappearance, various rescue agencies had mobilized to conduct a thorough search and rescue mission. However, despite their concerted efforts, it was not until the fifth day of the operation that Amololo’s lifeless body was discovered.
The somber recovery took place inside the subterranean tunnel on Friday, at approximately 5:53 p.m., as confirmed by a statement issued by Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA).
