Canadian rapper Tory Lanez has been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for shooting grammy award winner Megan Thee Stallion.
In December 2022, Tory was convicted and charged with three gun-related charges, which included assault with a semiautomatic handgun; carrying a loaded unregistered firearm in a vehicle; and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.
The incident occurred in 2020 during an argument at a party at Kylie Jenner’s hollywood home when he fired a gun at Megan’s feet and asked her to dance asshe walked away from a car in which they had been traveling on.
Following the court ruling by the Los Angeles judge, 31-year-old Tory has been held in county jail.
During the trial, Megan said she has not experienced a single day of peace since the incident.
Initially the prosecutor gave a 13 years sentence claiming he was not remorseful and incapable of accepting responsibility for his actions.
His defense team convinced the jury and requested for a probation as well as a residential drug treatment program to help to curb his alcohol problems.
