Tinubu Honours Super Falcons with National Awards, Cash Gifts, and Housing

Abuja, NigeriaPresident Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday hosted Nigeria’s victorious Super Falcons at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, awarding national honours and announcing generous rewards in recognition of their recent triumph at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

Each member of the team will receive a three-bedroom apartment at the Renewed Hope Housing Estate in Guzape District, Federal Capital Territory, along with a cash reward of $100,000. The president also pledged $50,000 to each member of the technical crew.

The Super Falcons, led by team captain Rasheedat Ajibade, presented their 10th WAFCON trophy to President Tinubu in a ceremony attended by First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, top government officials, and football stakeholders.

The team returned to Nigeria following their record-breaking achievement in Morocco, where they secured their 10th continental title. Their arrival at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja was met with jubilant celebrations, as fans and well-wishers gathered with songs and cheers.

Among the dignitaries who welcomed the champions were Governors Uba Sani (Kaduna), AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (Kwara), and Hope Uzodimma (Imo), as well as several federal ministers, underscoring the significance of the Falcons’ achievement for the nation.
