Tinubu Departs for France Amid Medical Speculations—Sowore

Abuja, Nigeria  —  Human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has alleged that President Bola Tinubu has once again traveled to France for medical treatment, contradicting official claims of a working visit.

Sowore, in a statement on Wednesday, criticized the alleged misinformation surrounding the president’s trip, expressing concern that Nigerians were being misled about his absence.

However, presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga issued a counterstatement, affirming that Tinubu’s trip was a scheduled short working visit to France, which commenced on Tuesday.

According to Onanuga, the visit is intended for the president to assess his administration’s mid-term performance, review ongoing policy reforms, and strategize ahead of his second anniversary in office.

“The retreat will serve as a platform for the president to evaluate key milestones, refine existing policies, and set new priorities for national development,” Onanuga stated.

Despite his absence, the presidency assured Nigerians that Tinubu remains actively engaged with his team and will continue to oversee governance remotely.

The president is expected to return to Nigeria in approximately two weeks.
