President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Paris for a three-day state visit at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations across various sectors.
The President touched down at Orly Airport at 5:10 p.m. local time on Wednesday. His visit is set to focus on deepening political, economic, and cultural cooperation, with key areas including agriculture, security, education, health, youth engagement, innovation, and energy transition.
According to a statement by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu and First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu will be received on Thursday at the historic Les Invalides and the Élysée Palace by President Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron. The reception will include formal ceremonies and bilateral discussions.
Talks will center on expanding youth-focused exchange programs in automation, entrepreneurship, innovation, and leadership. Both leaders will also engage in political and diplomatic discussions covering finance, solid minerals, trade, investments, and communication.
A session by the France-Nigeria Business Council is scheduled during the visit, aimed at enhancing private sector participation in economic development.
Additionally, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu and Brigitte Macron will hold discussions on initiatives to support women, children, and vulnerable groups, with a focus on Nigeria’s Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), led by the First Lady.
