Tinubu Applauds Release of Kuriga School Children

President Bola Tinubu has expressed his satisfaction at the news of the liberation of the Kuriga school children in Kaduna State, underscoring the necessity of cohesive federal-state collaboration to achieve desired outcomes, particularly in matters of security.

In a statement relayed by his Special Adviser Media and Publicity, Mr. Ajuri Ngelale, on Sunday, the President extended his gratitude to the National Security Adviser, Security Agencies, and the Kaduna State Government for their swift and diligent handling of the situation. He emphasized the paramount importance of prompt action, meticulous attention, and unwavering dedication in resolving cases of mass abductions.

President Tinubu further hailed the release of pupils from a Tsangaya school in Sokoto State, commending all involved parties for their courageous efforts.

Assuring Nigerians of his administration’s commitment, the President affirmed the deployment of comprehensive strategies to safeguard schools as secure havens for education, free from the scourge of rampant abductions.

Earlier on Sunday, the Kaduna State Government announced the release of the 287 abducted children from LEA Primary School and Government Secondary School, Kuriga, who were held captive by hoodlums demanding a ransom of N1 billion before or on March 27, 2024.
