Three Siblings Found Dead in Parked Vehicle in Anambra.

Nise, Awka South LGA, Anambra State  — Tragedy struck the Nise community as three siblings—a girl and two boys—were discovered dead inside a parked vehicle in their parents’ compound. 

The heartbreaking incident occurred on Saturday, January 4, 2025, while their parents were away for the day. Upon returning home in the evening, the father searched for the children for over an hour before finding them lifeless inside the locked car. Efforts to revive them proved unsuccessful, with reports indicating that they suffocated within the vehicle.

Confirming the incident,  Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Tochukwu Ikenga, disclosed that the command has launched an investigation. He revealed that the children’s father has been interviewed, and the police are working with the information provided to uncover the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.

Reacting to the incident, Chief Anthony Nwabuana, President General of the community, described it as a devastating loss. He urged parents and guardians to ensure children are left in the care of responsible adults and to secure vehicles and other hazardous spaces to prevent similar occurrences.

The grieving parents, who reportedly waited years to have their children, buried the siblings on Sunday and have since relocated from the community.

The incident has left the Nise community in mourning, with neighbors and relatives expressing shock and deep sorrow over the loss.
