Three Dead in Deadly Road Crash Involving Dangote Truck in Auchi, Edo State

Auchi, Edo StateThree people tragically lost their lives on Sunday in a multi-vehicle accident involving a Dangote Cement truck, an unidentified truck, and a GLK Benz near Omega Fire Ministry in Auchi.

The accident occurred around midday, with eyewitnesses capturing the aftermath in a viral video. A church member narrated how the Dangote truck collided with about five vehicles before catching fire, though the blaze was quickly extinguished.

The senior pastor of Omega Fire Ministry, Johnson Suleiman, condemned the tragedy as avoidable, attributing it to untrained and overworked truck drivers, some allegedly under the influence of drugs. He called on companies to ensure proper training and responsible management of their drivers to prevent such incidents.

Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, Moses Yamu, confirmed the crash involving the two trucks and GLK Benz. All three occupants of the GLK Benz were pronounced dead at the hospital. The Dangote truck caught fire but was controlled promptly by emergency responders.

The incident has raised concerns over road safety, driver welfare, and the accountability of large corporations operating heavy vehicles on Nigerian roads.
