Chinese, Germany – Three Chinese nationals were arrested by German police on Wednesday on suspicion of smuggling prostitutes.
This follows a series of raids involving 150 officers at a brothel, homes, and shops in the states of Hesse and Baden-Württemberg.
The public prosecutor’s office revealed that the three suspects, who were also accused of tax evasion, were detained in the city of Wiesbaden.
Two women and one man, aged 29, 49, and 61, were taken into custody.
“They are strongly suspected of having employed and harboured numerous women from China as prostitutes between February 2020 and December 2024, although they did not have residence permits authorising them to work in Germany,” the prosecutor’s office said in a statement.
The 61-year-old and the 29-year-old are suspected of having run the brothel together, while the 49-year-old is accused of helping to procure clients, NAN reports.
