Abeokuta, Ogun State — Team FCT has emerged as a standout contender at the 22nd National Sports Festival, tagged “Gateway Games 2024,” currently underway in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
At the end of Day 5 of the competition, the team had amassed a total of 12 medals, reflecting a commendable performance across multiple sports disciplines.
According to a breakdown released by festival officials, Team FCT secured 4 Gold Medals — two in Ayo, one in Golf, and another in Wushu Kung Fu. The team also claimed 5 Silver Medals, with four earned in Weightlifting and one in an event yet to be disclosed. Additionally, they earned 3 Bronze Medals in Taekwondo, Beach Volleyball, and Weightlifting.
With several events still ahead, Team FCT remains focused and motivated to build on their success. The athletes, buoyed by their achievements, are optimistic about increasing their medal tally as the games progress.
The festival grounds are abuzz with excitement as Team FCT continues to demonstrate resilience and excellence in pursuit of sporting glory.
