In a recent development, the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) revealed that certain areas within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) are set to undergo a seven-hour power interruption. The disclosure came from Ndidi Mbah, TCN’s General Manager of Public Affairs, in an official statement on Saturday.
Mbah conveyed that the scheduled power outage is imperative to facilitate planned preventive maintenance on the 132/33kV 2X100MVA Power Transformers located in the Apo Transmission Substation. The maintenance activities, outlined for both Saturday and Sunday, are scheduled to transpire from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on each day.
As a consequence of this undertaking, there will be a suspension of power through both transformers, rendering the Abuja distribution company (DisCo) incapable of receiving power from the aforementioned transformers. This, in turn, will impact customers in various areas, including Garki, Asokoro, Lugbe, Airport Rd, Gudu, Gaduwa, parts of Lokogoma, Apo, Kabusa, Guzape, and Nepa Junction for a duration of seven hours.
Mbah assured residents that power supply will be reinstated by 4 pm on both Saturday and Sunday, following the successful completion of the maintenance operations.
