Take benefit of Ondo natural reserves, commissioner urges investors

The Ondo State Government has called on investors all over the world to take advantage of numerous human and natural resources of the state to invest in the state.

The government said it had an enabling business environment that can acclimate any kind of legitimate business across the local government areas of the state.

The state Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Engr. Razaq Obe, stated this while speaking in Akure, on the forthcoming second Ondo investment summit organized by the state. The summit is tagged ‘Develop Ondo 2.0.’

Obe, who is also the Chairman of, Develop Ondo Summit Planning Committee said President Bola Tinubu would announce the summit open this month.

He explained that the summit served as a significant platform to showcase the potential and investment opportunities that the state offered to the world.

He said, “Ondo State, with its rich cultural heritage, natural resources, and strategic location, holds a special place in Nigeria’s economic landscape. The state’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive has been remarkable. Ondo State boasts a skilled, reliable workforce, a robust and swiftly growing infrastructure network, and a vibrant entrepreneurial spirit, making it an attractive destination to both local and foreign investors.

“This summit marks a turning point for Ondo State, as we present an array of investment opportunities across various sectors. From agriculture to manufacturing, tourism to technology, renewable energy to infrastructural development. Ondo State offers a diverse range of sectors where investors can harness the untapped potential and contribute to the growth of our economy.

“Furthermore, Ondo State is blessed with abundant natural resources, including vast arable land for agriculture, solid minerals, and a significant coastline for maritime activities and tourism. We encourage potential investors to explore these sectors which hold immense opportunities for sustainable development, employment generation, and wealth creation.”

In his remarks, the Director of Business Development and Investment, of the Ondo State Development and Promotion Agency, Mr Femi Akarakiri said the state had many resources to contest Lagos economically.

“A new state is about to take off. The summit is an opportunity for us to come together to discuss a new Ondo,” he said.
