Super Eagles Set for Friendly Against Russia in June

Lagos, Nigeria  — Nigeria’s Super Eagles will take on Russia in a highly anticipated international friendly match this June, as confirmed by the Russian Football Union (RFU).

According to details published on the RFU’s official website, the match is scheduled for Friday, June 6, though the venue remains undecided.

As part of their preparation, Russia will also face fellow European side Belarus in another friendly on Tuesday, June 10.  Additionally, they are set to play Zambia in March, further strengthening their engagements with African teams.

For the Super Eagles, the friendly will serve as a crucial test ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Nigeria is set to battle Rwanda on Friday, March 21, at Amahoro Stadium in Kigali, before hosting Zimbabwe four days later at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

With these fixtures lined up, the Super Eagles will be looking to fine-tune their squad as they continue their quest for World Cup qualification.
