The State House has proposed a budget of N15.09 billion for the purchase of vehicle tyres, including those for bulletproof cars, SUVs, operational vehicles, and plain cars, as well as the construction of an office complex for Special Advisers and Senior Special Assistants.
This expenditure is detailed in the 2025 Appropriation Bill released by the Budget Office of the Federation on Thursday. Additionally, N5.49 billion has been set aside for the annual maintenance of the Presidential Villa.
The appropriation bill is part of the federal government’s N49.70 trillion spending plan for 2025, which President Bola Tinubu presented to a joint session of the National Assembly on Wednesday. Titled “Budget of Restoration: Securing Peace, Rebuilding Prosperity,” the budget prioritizes defence, infrastructure development, and human capital growth.
With a projected deficit of N13.39 trillion, the budget is expected to be financed through borrowing. Addressing the National Assembly, President Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s focus on bolstering security and overhauling critical infrastructure to drive national progress.
The document also reveals that N164 million is earmarked for purchasing tyres for various vehicles used by the State House, including bulletproof cars, SUVs, platform trucks, and other utility vehicles.
