Spyro claims Ubi Franklin scammed him out of $5,000 using Davido’s name.

$5,000–Singer Spyro has come forward with serious allegations against music executive Ubi Franklin, accusing him of scamming him out of $5,000.

In an interview on the Echoroom podcast, Spyro revealed that he was deceived by Franklin into performing at a birthday party in Ghana under false pretenses involving Davido. Despite an agreement to pay him $5,000 for the performance, Spyro claimed that Franklin reneged on the payment, leading to disappointment and frustration on Spyro’s part.

According to Spyro’s account, Franklin contacted him in the morning, claiming to be in Ghana for Iyanya‘s birthday and requesting Spyro’s performance at the event. Franklin allegedly mentioned Davido’s involvement and assured Spyro of the payment.

However, after the performance, Franklin refused to pay Spyro, and the situation escalated upon their return to Lagos. Spyro expressed feeling deceived and disrespected by Franklin’s actions, particularly given his prior respect for Franklin.

Spyro highlighted that despite Pastor Bolaji’s intervention in the matter, Franklin continued to ignore him and dismiss his requests for payment. Spyro emphasized that he shared his experience to caution other artists and prevent them from falling victim to similar scams orchestrated by Franklin.
