Lagos, Nigeria — Nigerian music star Abbey Elias, known professionally as Skiibii, has surpassed 600 million streams across major digital platforms, marking a significant achievement in his artistic journey and affirming his influence in the Afrobeats and street-pop scene.
The milestone was officially recognized during a commemorative event held in Lagos by Dapper Music & Entertainment, the label to which Skiibii has been signed since 2019. The celebration also highlighted the longevity and creative synergy of the partnership between the artist and the label.
In a statement released by Dapper Music, CEO Akinwunmi “Dapper” Damilola and Executive Vice President of Dvpper Digital, Alugo “Lugzy” Ademola, praised the structure and consistency that have shaped Skiibii’s career over the years.
“This achievement is not just about numbers,” Lugzy said. “It reflects a strategic approach, an artist with clarity, and a creative system designed to support growth and longevity. It’s a win for the entire music ecosystem.”
Dapper echoed similar sentiments, describing the milestone as a testament to endurance, evolution, and relevance. “Since joining us in 2019, Skiibii has shown what it means to connect deeply with audiences and remain a consistent force in an ever-changing music landscape.”
The artist’s standout tracks—including Baddest Boy featuring Davido and Trenches—have not only topped charts but also helped define the sound of street pop in Nigeria and across the continent. His unique blend of authenticity and relatable storytelling has earned him a growing global audience.
The Lagos event, attended by music industry stakeholders, friends, and collaborators, symbolized more than a streaming record—it celebrated a relationship rooted in trust, artistic freedom, and shared vision.
With new music expected soon, Skiibii’s 600 million streams serve as a reminder that lasting success in the music industry is driven by strong partnerships and intentional strategy.
