Vice President Kashim Shettima is set to lay the foundation stone for the permanent headquarters of the North-East Development Commission (NEDC) in Maiduguri, Borno State, on Wednesday, June 19.
According to a statement signed by Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media & Communications, Office of the Vice President, this initiative underscores the administration’s commitment to the sustainable development of the North East. The focus is on comprehensive security, reconstruction, food production, and job creation.
During the event, Vice President Shettima will also launch the distribution of essential agricultural inputs and equipment provided by the NEDC. Additionally, he will inspect the progress of the first phase of the 27km Jere Bowl Road Network construction in the Mafa/Jere local government area and will initiate the second phase of the project.
The ceremony is expected to be attended by state governors, lawmakers, traditional rulers, and other dignitaries from across the region.
