Sheffield, England — English Championship side Sheffield United have confirmed the acquisition of Nigerian forward Ehije Ukaki, completing a transfer from Bulgarian top-flight club Botev Plovdiv.
The 20-year-old attacker has signed a three-year contract with the Blades, joining as part of the club’s strategy to invest in promising young talent with international experience.
Blades boss Chris Wilder expressed excitement about Ukaki’s arrival, noting that the player was identified through the club’s analytics-based recruitment process.
“Ehije is a developing talent with great potential,” Wilder said via the club’s official channel. “At just 20, he’s already had a taste of European football. There’s a solid foundation to build on, and we’re eager to help him grow here at Sheffield United.”
Ukaki enjoyed a productive spell at Botev Plovdiv, where he registered seven goals across 37 appearances in all competitions last season. One of his standout performances came in the fiercely contested derby against Lokomotiv Plovdiv, where he scored the match-winner.
The transfer remains subject to international clearance and final paperwork, but once confirmed, Ukaki will join the squad at Bramall Lane ahead of the upcoming campaign.
