SGF Akume Urges Ministers to Collaborate for Renewed Hope.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, has called on Nigeria’s newly appointed ministers to prioritize collaboration with fellow ministers, permanent secretaries, and key stakeholders to fulfill their mandates under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. Speaking at a two-day Induction Retreat organized in Abuja, Akume emphasized that teamwork and strategic partnerships are essential for achieving sustainable development and addressing pressing challenges such as economic recovery and social cohesion.

According to a statement by Segun Imohiosen, the Director of Information in Akume’s office, the SGF congratulated the new ministers on their appointments and stressed the importance of transparency, accountability, and excellence in public service. He assured them that his office would provide the necessary support to ensure the successful execution of government policies, programs, and projects, urging ministers to offer strong leadership within their ministries.

Former SGF, Boss Mustapha, also addressed the gathering, encouraging the ministers to work closely with the SGF’s office in implementing policies aligned with the eight priority areas of the Renewed Hope Agenda. Additionally, Didi Esther Walson-Jack, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, advised ministers to collaborate with permanent secretaries and engage with the Federal Civil Service Strategy Implementation Plan (FCSSIP) 2021–2025.

Hadiza Bala Usman, Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination, highlighted the importance of the retreat as an opportunity for ministers to familiarize themselves with the Presidential Priority Areas. Meanwhile, DSS Director General Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi, a resource person at the event, advised ministers to handle sensitive government documents with discretion to safeguard national security.
