The eagerly awaited grand finale of the fifth edition of the Dolphin Swimming Tournament is set to take center stage on Saturday, March 16, at Grange School, Ikeja Lagos, marking the pinnacle of this prestigious event.
Renowned as one of the nation’s premier school swimming competitions, the tournament serves as a catalyst for nurturing swimming talent from grassroots levels to international prominence.
Organized by Dynaspro Promotions in collaboration with Advanta Interactive, the Dolphin Swimming Tournament aims to unearth budding talents from educational institutions across the country.
Endorsed by both the Nigeria Aquatics Federation and the Lagos State Swimming Association, the tournament has witnessed remarkable growth with each passing season. It offers students a platform to refine their skills and compete against their peers in a day-long extravaganza.
Defending champions such as St Saviour’s School and Grange School in the elementary and secondary categories, respectively, are poised to maintain their supremacy as they vie against eight formidable opponents for top honors at the grand finale.
Joining the fray for podium finishes are institutions including Atlantic Hall, Greensprings School, Meadow Hall, Lagoon Whitesands, Children International School (CIS), Italian Priory, and the hosting school, LPSS, alongside clubs such as Boken Aquatics.
Dynaspro CEO Oluseyi Oyebode lauded the heightened competitiveness of this season’s tournament, noting the increased participation of schools. “With each passing season, we witness a surge in school enrollments, and we anticipate a fiercely contested grand finale as swimmers strive to secure medals for their respective institutions. We envision some of these athletes representing the nation in prestigious competitions,” he remarked.
The championship has garnered official support from esteemed bodies including the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) and the Nigeria School Sport Federation (NSSF), further cementing its status as a pivotal platform for nurturing sporting excellence.
