Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has applauded a professional slack-liner and balance trainer, Jaan Roose, for walking on a rope from Sterling Towers to Onome Rig, Marina, Lagos State.
Governor Sanwo-Olu noted that Lagos is the “epitome of beauty”, after seeing selfie photos taken by Roose while walking on the ropes. He made a tweet on X, expressing his goodwill message to the slack-liner.
During the activity, Roose captured what the Lagos state governor termed a “perfect Lagos selfie” while working on a project between the state government and an energy drink brand.
A trending video captured Roose navigating the bridge and train tracks at the CMS bus stop in Lagos.
Jan Roose is a three-time world champion, a holder of numerous world records and the first athlete to execute a double backflip on a slackline.
What is Slack-lining?
Slacklining is a sport that entails walking on a rope, suspended above the ground, it is often used for balance training, recreation and moving meditation. It also involves walking, running or balancing along a suspended length of flat webbing that is tensioned between two anchors. Types of Slacklining can include Urbanlining, Tricklining, Highlining, Slackline yoga and Rodeo line. However this is not common in Nigeria.
