Sansani Kingdom Mourns as Gunmen Claim the Life of Taraba Monarch

An esteemed monarch of Sansani Kingdom in Taraba State, AbdulMutalib Nuhu fell victim to a fatal attack orchestrated by unidentified gunmen. The community, already abuzz with anticipation for the Nwonyo International Fishing Festival, was plunged into mourning as news of the monarch’s demise spread.

Eyewitnesses recounted the chilling sequence of events, detailing how the assailants, armed and mounted on motorcycles, descended upon the monarch’s palace in Gassol local government area. Amidst the peaceful evening, chaos erupted as the gunmen brazenly carried out their heinous act.

Salihu Sansani, the grief-stricken elder brother of the deceased and a firsthand witness to the tragedy, bravely shared his account with Radio Nigeria. He revealed the ruthless nature of the attack, stating that the gunmen mercilessly shot his brother before fleeing the scene, leaving behind a distraught family and community.

Tragically, the violence did not end with the monarch’s life. As the perpetrators made their escape, they callously targeted a young man on a motorcycle, leaving him injured with a broken leg. The senseless act of violence has left the community shaken and searching for answers.

Amidst the shock and grief, there remains uncertainty surrounding the motive behind the attack, with no group claiming responsibility for the heinous crime. However, the State Police Command has pledged its unwavering commitment to bringing the perpetrators to justice, assuring the public that every possible avenue will be explored in pursuit of truth and accountability.
