In a press briefing held on Saturday in Port Harcourt, Sydney Gbara, the Rivers State Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), conveyed optimism that the ongoing political turmoil within the state is on the verge of conclusion.
Gbara underscored the dwindling enthusiasm among the majority of Rivers residents towards the prevailing political theatrics, emphasizing the collective yearning for tranquility. He expressed the sentiment that the populace desires an environment conducive for Governor Siminialaye Fubara to proficiently execute his responsibilities and showcase his administrative prowess.
Commending Governor Fubara for maintaining equanimity amid disagreements with his predecessor and certain governmental entities, Gbara highlighted the governor’s unwavering dedication to delivering impactful policies and projects that directly benefit the citizens.
Gbara remarked, “The governor’s policies are directly shaping lives and enhancing capacity. It’s no surprise that public sentiment is shifting in his favor, as the saying goes, ‘if you can’t beat them, join them.'”
Additionally, Gbara acknowledged the timely resignation and declaration of support by Mr. Achor Nna, a councillor representing the ward of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, further solidifying backing for Governor Fubara.
