Rivers Police Declare 2 LG Aides Wanted for Brutal Attack

Port Harcourt, NigeriaThe Rivers State Police Command has declared two senior local government appointees from Ahoada-East Local Government Area wanted over their alleged involvement in an attempted murder and violent assault on the council’s Sole Administrator, Hon. Goodluck Iheanachor.

This was made known in a statement issued on Sunday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, who identified the suspects as Mr. Hector Ekakita, the Chief Security Officer, and Mr. Aloni Olodi, the Chief of Staff of Ahoada-East LGA.

According to Iringe-Koko, the two officials, along with a gang of approximately 30 others, conspired to assault Iheanachor at the council secretariat on June 20, 2025. The attack allegedly resulted in physical harm to the administrator, the forced extraction of his signature under duress, and the theft of his mobile phones, official documents, and other personal and official items.

“The Sole Administrator continues to receive medical treatment following injuries sustained during the attack,” the statement revealed.

The Police Command further disclosed that both suspects had been previously invited for questioning at the State Headquarters but failed to honor the summons. As a result, Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, has formally declared them wanted.

“They are advised to report to the Police Headquarters on Moscow Road, Port Harcourt without delay,” Iringe-Koko stated, warning that anyone who attempts to shield or assist the suspects will be prosecuted under the full weight of the law.

The Rivers State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to upholding law and order and ensuring justice is served in the matter.
