The Nigeria House of Representatives has said it will approve the new minimum wage once it is transmitted to the National Assembly by the President.
The spokesman of the House, Akin Rotimi in a statement lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the announcement of the planned upward review of the national minimum wage.
Mr Rotimi said the decision would alleviate the adverse economic effects resulting from the removal of fuel subsidy.
According to Rotimi, the parliament empathized with Nigerians who have been distressed due to the gap between the removal of the subsidy and the implementation of palliative measures.
He assured Nigerians that the House will effectively monitor all entities of government responsible for the deployment of the palliative measures.
