Reactions Follow Senator Ifeanyi Ubah’s Death

The passing of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah has elicited a wave of reactions from various quarters, highlighting the significant impact he had on Nigerian society.

One notable response came from the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Tajudeen Abbas, who expressed profound shock over the death of the Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District. In a condolence message conveyed through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, Dr. Abbas described Senator Ubah as a key figure in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) within the South-East geopolitical zone. He lauded Ubah as a dedicated lawmaker, a successful businessman, and a generous philanthropist.

Similarly, Deputy Speaker Mr. Benjamin Kalu, in a condolence message relayed by his Special Adviser on Press Affairs, Udora Orizu, praised the late Senator as a patriot and philanthropist. He noted Ubah’s significant contributions to the parliament, media, sports, and the petroleum downstream industry. Mr. Kalu emphasized that through his company, Capital Oil Nigeria Ltd, and other ventures such as the Ifeanyi Ubah FC of Nnewi, the Ifeanyi Ubah Foundation, and Authority newspaper, Senator Ubah provided substantial employment opportunities for many Nigerians.

Both the Speaker and Deputy Speaker extended their heartfelt condolences to Senator Ubah’s family, the people, and the government of Anambra State, as well as the Senate, acknowledging the profound loss. They offered prayers for God to grant Senator Ubah eternal rest.
