Raphinha Crowned Player of the Season for La Liga 24/25

Barcelona, Spain — Brazilian forward Raphinha has been honoured as La Liga’s Player of the Season for the 2024/2025 campaign, following a phenomenal individual and team performance that helped power FC Barcelona to a domestic treble.

The 28-year-old winger was instrumental throughout the season, amassing an impressive 34 goals and 25 assists across 57 matches in all competitions. His efforts contributed significantly to Barcelona’s successful haul of the La Liga title, Copa del Rey trophy, and the Spanish Super Cup.

Raphinha, who joined the Catalan giants from Leeds United in 2022, recently extended his stay at Camp Nou through to 2028 — a clear vote of confidence in his continued impact at the club. One of his standout moments came during the UEFA Champions League semi-finals, where his late goal temporarily handed Barcelona the advantage over Inter Milan. Although the Spanish side eventually bowed out in extra time, the goal marked Raphinha’s 13th in just 14 appearances in the competition.

Barcelona’s dominance this season was further reflected in the emergence of teenage sensation Lamine Yamal, who was named La Liga’s Best Under-23 Player. At just 17 years old, Yamal solidified his place among football’s rising elite, scoring nine goals in La Liga and five in the Champions League, following a breakout year.

As Barcelona celebrate a historic season, both Raphinha and Yamal stand out as cornerstones of the club’s present excellence and future promise.
