Abuja, Nigeria — President Bola Tinubu has extended heartfelt congratulations to Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto on the occasion of his 73rd birthday on August 31, 2025.
The President joined Christians and the Catholic community nationwide in celebrating the Bishop’s enduring commitment to championing the rights of the poor and influencing development policies focused on people’s welfare throughout Nigeria and across Africa.
Highlighting Bishop Kukah’s significant contributions, Tinubu recalled his roles in critical national efforts including the Truth Commission, Political Reform Conference, and Electoral Reform Committee. He praised the Bishop’s relentless promotion of peace and unity, especially through his leadership in inter-religious dialogue between Christians and Muslims.
