President Tinubu Appoints Olumode Adeyemi as Controller-General of Federal Fire Service

Abuja, NigeriaPresident Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Deputy Controller-General Olumode Samuel Adeyemi as the new Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), effective August 14, 2025.

The appointment was confirmed in an official statement issued by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), and signed by its Secretary, Abdulmalik Jibrin.

According to the Board, Adeyemi’s elevation marks a new chapter in the leadership of the FFS, as the agency continues to enhance national fire safety, emergency response, and disaster management frameworks.

“DCG Olumode Samuel Adeyemi brings extensive experience and professional expertise to the role,” the statement noted. A seasoned officer, Adeyemi began his career with the FCT Fire Service before transferring to the Federal Fire Service, where he rose through the ranks to become Deputy Controller-General in charge of Human Resources at the Service’s Headquarters.

Throughout his distinguished career, Adeyemi has completed all mandatory in-service and command training programmes, including advanced professional courses both locally and internationally. He is also a member or fellow of several professional bodies, including the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, the Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria, and the Chartered Institute of Treasury Management of Nigeria.

The CDCFIB expressed gratitude to the outgoing Controller-General, Engr. Abdulganiyu Jaji Olola, for his exemplary service and leadership. The Board commended his dedication and the strategic initiatives he championed during his tenure, which significantly advanced the operations and reputation of the Federal Fire Service.
