Political leaders, stakeholders should stop divisive actions – Kaduna PDP chair, Hassan Hyat

Mr Felix Hassan Hyat, Kaduna State chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has called on leaders and stakeholders in Nigeria to ensure they promote peace and unity in their utterances and actions.

Speaking in Kaduna on Friday during a one-day roundtable on religion and politics, he lamented that former governor Nasir El-Rufai could lower himself to raise a sensitive issue that is meant to cause division and hatred among Christians and Muslims in the country.

According to him, Leaders and stakeholders in this country should see themselves as bridge builders meant to ensure a conducive environment that will foster peace and unity for all Nigerians to go about their legitimate businesses without any problem.

He expantiated that we should pity ourselves in the country that in spite of the abundance of blessings God has bestowed in the country, only few are enjoying it because of greed and selfishness.

He urged governor Uba Sani to fear God and do the needful to the people of the state irrespective of their political and religious differences.

Mr Hassan said that Kaduna State needs a leader that has the political will to face the challenges confronting the state squarely without any favouritism for the overall development of the state.

He explained that the leadership of the state government has an ample opportunity to correct the mistakes of the past by uniting the citizens.
