Quan Pan, Plateau State — Security operatives in Plateau State have apprehended two brothers, Haruna and Usman Mohammed, for allegedly kidnapping one Muhammad Sani Juli and extorting a ransom of ₦2.2 million.
Authorities also linked Usman Mohammed to attacks on travelers along Juku Road in Nasarawa State. During interrogation, he confessed that their criminal o perations involved the use of AK-47 rifles, reportedly supplied by individuals identified as Umar and Hidi from Asakio, Nasarawa State.
Speaking at a security council meeting in Quan Pan Local Government Area, Executive Chairman Christopher Audu Manship reiterated his administration’s resolve to strengthen security efforts. He urged security agencies to intensify operations against kidnappers and criminals in the region.
Manship further instructed law enforcement to recover and confiscate the weapons used in the crimes and ensure the return of the ransom money to Muhammadu Sani Juli.
Expressing gratitude, Mr. Juli commended Chairman Manship for his swift intervention and proactive leadership in tackling insecurity in the area.
