Police Launch Investigation into Kwara Polytechnic Student’s Death

The Kwara State Police Command has initiated an investigation into the death of Qoyum Ishola, a student of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, who was reportedly shot by police officers on September 4 in the Zango area of the state capital.

Commissioner of Police Victor Olaiya, in a statement, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to seeking justice for the deceased. He stated that a thorough investigation has begun, with relevant individuals and witnesses already identified.

The police assured the public that they are dedicated to uncovering the facts surrounding the incident and will hold those responsible accountable under the law. The command also emphasized that the investigation would be conducted with the utmost integrity and transparency.

In the statement, the police urged the community, particularly those directly affected by the incident, to remain calm and allow the legal process to take its course.
