In a bid to ensuring a smooth and secure celebration of Eid-el-Kabir for Muslims in Nasarawa State, the Nigeria Police Force’s Nasarawa State Command has deployed a substantial number of personnel—5,750 officers—across all 13 Local Government Areas in the state. This vital information was conveyed in a press statement issued by the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, and shared with the press in Lafia. The statement emphasized that the Commissioner of Police, Maiyaki Baba, has strategically positioned the deployed officers to cover various locations such as Eid praying grounds, recreational centers, and other public places.
In addition to securing the highways and ensuring the safety of road users, undercover operatives have also been assigned throughout the state to conduct surveillance and gather vital information. The command sternly warns any individuals with malicious intent or those planning to engage in criminal activities during this period to stay away from the state, as they will face arrest and appropriate prosecution.
These robust security measures reflect the commitment of the Nasarawa State Police Command to maintain peace and protect the well-being of the community during the Eid-el-Kabir festivities.
