Police Apprehend Kidnappers and Ritualist, Recover Human Hair in Delta State

The Delta State Police Command has made significant strides in combating crime, apprehending kidnappers and a suspected ritualist found in possession of human hair.

One of the suspects, identified as Favour Eze, a 24-year-old male from Amasiri Village in Afikpo L.G.A, Ebonyi State, was arrested along with a cache of incriminating items, including a locally made pistol and suspected hard drugs concealed within a bundle of clothes. Eze is currently in custody as investigations continue.

In another operation, the Tactical Patrol Teams, while conducting a routine stop and search along the Ogwashi-Uku/Kwale Road, intercepted a red commercial Toyota Sienna space van traveling from Asaba to Warri. Upon searching the vehicle and its occupants, law enforcement officers recovered additional evidence.

Furthermore, a special team deployed to Ughelli, led by ASP Julius Robinson, acted on intelligence and apprehended a 28-year-old suspect affiliated with the Eiye confraternity in Oghara, Delta State. This led to the arrest of another 46-year-old suspect in possession of an automatic Pump Action gun at a hotel in Koko Junction, Oghara.

Subsequent interrogation of the suspects revealed their involvement in a string of kidnappings across Ughelli, Warri, Sapele, and surrounding areas. The investigation is ongoing, with the suspects currently in custody.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi, praised the dedication and efforts of the command’s officers and men in the relentless fight against crime and criminality.
