Plateau State, Nigeria: The Plateau State Government has approved N350 million to revamp non-functional boreholes in Jos North and South Local Government Areas, addressing the challenges of water supply in these regions
Governor Caleb Mutfwang announced this initiative at a state dinner held at the Government House in Jos, where he hosted the Muslim community to break their fast.
During the event, Governor Mutfwang emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and tolerance in the state, encouraging the Muslim community to support efforts towards lasting peace and harmony. He also acknowledged the challenges faced by residents due to water scarcity and assured that his administration is working to address the issue.
The governor further urged the Muslim community to support the recently signed Executive Order suspending mining activities in the state, as well as promote the education of girls. The event was attended by top government officials, security chiefs, religious leaders, youths, and community leaders from across the 17 local government areas of the state.
