Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the previous election, expressed his sympathy to the family of the deceased Nollywood actor, Junior Pope. The former governor of Anambra State visited the family and signed the condolence book. Kenneth Okonkwo, a Nollywood actor and former spokesperson of the Labour Party’s presidential campaign council, posted images and videos of the visit on his Instagram account on Saturday.
In his post, he mentioned that Peter Obi went to the home of the late Junior Pope to offer condolences to his family following the tragic and premature loss of their relative. He comforted the mother, Mrs. Maria Odonwodo, the widow, Jennifer, and the children of the deceased.
Junior Pope passed away on April 10, 2024, in a boating accident on the Anam River in Anambra State, alongside three others. He was buried in his hometown, Ukehe in Nsukka Local Government Area, Enugu State, on Friday.
