The Portuguese coach, Jose Peseiro, is set to continue leading the Super Eagles until the conclusion of the next year’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cote d’Ivoire. This decision emerged after a meeting on Saturday night between Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh, and the leadership of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF). They addressed the contract status of the Super Eagles Coach ahead of the last African Cup of Nations qualifying match.
During this meeting, the Minister’s team, including Permanent Secretary Alhaji Ismaila Abubakar and various Directors, engaged with representatives from the NFF, led by its President, Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau. The meeting resulted in an agreement to extend the coach’s expired contract until the end of February 2024. It was also noted that the coach had consented to a reduction in his salary for the duration of the extended contract.
