Pep Guardiola Eager for Rodri’s Return to Action

Manchester, England  —  Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has expressed his eagerness to see midfielder Rodri return to competitive action following his recovery from injury.

Rodri, who underwent ACL surgery in August, recently resumed training, marking a significant step toward his full return to the squad.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Guardiola shared his excitement about having the Spanish midfielder back in the team.

“The fans must know they’re not the only ones excited,” Guardiola said. “Rodri has been out for five or six months, and while he’s progressing well, we need to be cautious with his return.”

Guardiola emphasized the importance of patience, noting that while Rodri has started ball work and regained confidence, he is not yet ready for immediate action.

“He’s back in the locker room, feeling more confident and happier, but we must avoid rushing things. His return will be gradual,” he stated.

When asked about the possibility of Rodri featuring in the FA Cup final should City progress to Wembley, Guardiola remained cautious but hopeful.

“We’re in the quarterfinals, so we have to earn our place in the final first. If we get there, we’ll assess his readiness,” he concluded.

Rodri’s recovery comes as a boost for City, with Guardiola optimistic about his contributions as the season progresses.
