PDP Labels Tinubu’s Administration a ‘Bad Market,’ Vows 2027 Defeat for APC

Abuja, NigeriaThe Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government as a ‘bad market,’ accusing the All Progressives Congress (APC) of failing Nigerians and pledging to remove the ruling party in the 2027 elections.

The declaration was made on Monday during a media briefing in Abuja by PDP National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba.

Ologunagba stated that the PDP is recalibrating its organizational structures to offer Nigerians a credible alternative in next year’s general elections.

He criticized the APC-led administration for plunging the country into economic hardship, insecurity, and despair, emphasizing that the PDP alone possesses the organizational strength and legacy necessary to rescue Nigeria.

“This government feasts while telling the people to fast. No patriotic Nigerian or genuine political group will back Tinubu come 2027. His presidency is a bad market,” Ologunagba asserted.

He accused the APC of losing connection with grassroots citizens, instigating turmoil within opposition parties, and mismanaging the economy to the point where critical infrastructure and public services are deteriorating.

“Just yesterday at the airport, I saw empty terminals and half-full planes despite fare increases—this reflects the dire economic reality under Tinubu,” he said.

Ologunagba also condemned the worsening national security situation, citing recent killings in Plateau State and the reported assault on a PDP candidate in Abuja as evidence that insecurity has become normalized.

He stressed that the PDP’s strength lies not in officeholders but in its loyal grassroots supporters who remain steadfast despite elite defections.

“Our base remains strong. People aren’t leaving us despite hunger and insecurity because we resonate with their reality,” he explained.

Highlighting the party’s governance achievements, Ologunagba pointed to progress in PDP-controlled states like Osun, Oyo, Bayelsa, and Rivers, contrasting them with struggling APC states such as Kogi.

“Review the strides in agriculture, health, education, and infrastructure in PDP states, and compare these with APC-governed regions—you’ll see a marked difference,” he said.

He accused the APC of voter suppression and election rigging, particularly referencing the low voter turnout in Lagos’ recent local government elections as a silent vote of no confidence in the ruling party.

“If APC were truly strong, turnout wouldn’t have been just 6%. Even their leaders admit the people rejected them. Nigerians are weary and will express their voice in 2027,” he warned.

The briefing also provided details about the PDP’s forthcoming 101st National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, scheduled for July 23–25, 2025.

Ologunagba outlined the agenda, which includes preparations for the national convention, reports from zoning and convention committees, and ratification of congresses at various party levels.

“All NEC members are expected to attend. INEC has been duly notified. Our conduct aligns fully with our Constitution and the rule of law,” he added.

Reaffirming commitment to unity and renewal, Ologunagba said the PDP is determined to restore hope to Nigerians yearning for capable and empathetic governance.

“The PDP alone can unseat the APC—not just in words but through structure, legacy, reach, and impact. Nigerians are urging us to unite and rescue the nation from the reckless APC regime,” he concluded.
