Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCCG), emphasized the importance of theological education in combating heresies and incorrect doctrines in society.
During the inauguration of the RCCG Bible College’s main campus in Redemption Camp, Mowe, Ogun, Pastor Adeboye, represented by Pastor Joseph Obayemi, National Overseer Emeritus, RCCG, highlights the necessity of theological education in equipping and guiding aspiring pastors against doctrinal errors.
According to Adeboye, theological education plays a crucial role in today’s society, particularly in these end times marked by an abundance of heresies and misguided teachings. He expresses concern about inexperienced pastors without proper mentoring who may propagate misleading beliefs from the pulpit, attracting followers due to their charisma and youthful energy. Adeboye believes that a theological school like RCCG’s can help shape and develop these individuals.
He further explains that theological education offers a broader understanding of the fundamentals of Christianity beyond mere public speaking in religious settings. Adeboye emphasizes the distinction between being charismatic, anointed by God, and spiritually mature, asserting that theological education helps pastors grasp these nuances.
Adeboye asserts that theological education remains indispensable in the present time and will continue to be valuable in the foreseeable future.
Regarding the new administrative building of the college, Adeboye sees it as a testament to the glory of God.
Pastor Ezekiel Odeyemi, RCCG Continental Overseer, affirms that the Bible college holds a vital position within the church, providing necessary training to support the growth of the redeemed. He emphasizes the importance of maintaining doctrinal integrity and gospel authenticity, expressing satisfaction with the progress and dedication of those responsible for the college.
Pastor Josiah Bolarinwa, the provost of the college, reveals that the construction of the new building aligns with the board of governors’ vision to elevate the college’s status to an affiliate of two recognized Nigerian universities endorsed by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
