Paris 2024 Olympics: Reuben launches Nigeria’s final search for medal

Hannah Reuben will look to salvage Nigeria’s quest for a podium finish at 2024 Olympic Games when she takes to the mat in the women’s wrestling freestyle 76kg category on Saturday (today).

Reuben will be up against Mongolia’s Davaanasan Enkh-Amar in the quarter-final.

Nigeria’s hope of winning a medal in Paris 2024 rests on her shoulders after 87 other athletes across 12 sports failed to make it to the podium.

The likes of Tobi Amusan, Ese Brume, Favour Ofili, Blessing Oborodudu and Odunayo Adekuroye all failed to live up to expectations at the ongoing games.

Reuben, who is ranked eighth in the world, is the African champion in her category.

She also claimed gold at the 2023 World Military Wrestling Championships, establishing herself as a formidable force in her weight class.
