The Oyo State Government has arrested the organisers of a children’s funfair where a stampede resulted in multiple deaths and injuries on Wednesday, at the Islamic High School, Basorun, Ibadan. Governor Seyi Makinde confirmed the arrest, stating that investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the stampede .
Makinde expressed sympathy for the victims and their families, assuring that measures have been taken to prevent further deaths. He also vowed that those responsible would face consequences, saying, “Anyone directly or remotely involved in this disaster will be held accountable” .
