The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, has given his approval to legislation enacted by the State Legislature, instituting a fresh emblem for the state.
The Legislature had rejected the emblem introduced by the administration of Governor Rauf Aregbesola in 2011, opting instead for a newly crafted design.
In a release from the Governor’s media representative, Olawale Rasheed, on Wednesday, Governor Adeleke hailed the new emblem as a signifier of the state’s fresh start.
“I am thrilled to enact this new Emblem into law as an indication of the rebirth of our beloved State. The new emblem is meaningful as it harmoniously symbolizes our storied anthem, our principles, and heritage. The new emblem serves as an instructive asset for our youth, as it encapsulates symbols of our landmarks, strengths, resources, and heritage. The emblem further acts as an instrument to promote the state domestically and internationally. It is my distinct honor and pleasure to present the new emblem as the representation of our state. This proclamation will signal a new era of wealth, plenty, and sustainability for our citizens and admirers,” the governor stated.
