Osun Governor Adeleke suspends his assistant

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has taken the decision to suspend his Senior Special Assistant on Civil Societies, Emmanuel Adebisi, with immediate effect.

The suspension is pending the outcome of investigations to be conducted by the governor’s Chief of Staff, Kazeem Akinleye. In a statement released by Adeleke’s spokesperson,Olawale Rasheed,the governor also issued a warning to transport workers in Osun State against engaging in activities that could lead to violence and lawlessness.

Governor Adeleke instructed the Commissioner for Transportation to convene a reconciliatory meeting involving all conflicting groups within the transport sector. He emphasized the need for transport officials and their members to refrain from causing distractions that could impede the progress of various ongoing projects and the delivery of effective governance in Osun State.

The administration has a zero-tolerance policy towards lawlessness and violence and is determined to uphold a standard of good governance.The statement highlighted the government’s commitment to regulating Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) in Osun State with transparency and accountability. Measures such as automated revenue collection and a consolidated billing process integrating multiple revenue points have been implemented to increase IGR and prevent revenue leakages.

Adeleke stressed that revenue diversion is a thing of the past in Osun State and that any transport official found engaging in violence will face legal consequences.The Commissioner for Transportation has been tasked with engaging transport officials, reconciling financial records, and ensuring compliance with the law.

Governor Adeleke’s message underscores the importance of maintaining peace, order, and adherence to due process within the transport sector to support good governance and the rule of law in Osun State.
