The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially disassociated itself from any ongoing party registration activities within the state.
In a communiqué issued following a stakeholders meeting at the party secretariat in Osogbo, the state capital, the APC declared that any current registration efforts are not sanctioned by any official party organs in Osun.
The communiqué, signed by State Chairman Alhaji Tajudeen Lawal, clarified that the party has not initiated any membership registration in Osun State. Instead, members were informed about the forthcoming electronic membership registration, as directed by the national secretariat.
“For clarity, the ‘train the trainers’ workshop for the electronic membership registration will commence tomorrow in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, as announced by our National Chairman, Dr. Abdulahi Ganduje. Therefore, any ongoing or recent registrations are not recognized by any official party structures,” the communiqué stated.
The stakeholders urged members to encourage genuinely repentant former members to reintegrate fully into the party at the unit and ward levels.
The meeting also instructed all party organs, from the unit to the state level, to continue holding regular meetings and to welcome new defectors, noting a significant influx of new members in the state.
Additionally, the meeting expressed confidence in Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, commending his contributions to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration and his capacity to address the nation’s current economic challenges.
