Istanbul, Turkey — Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen delivered a sensational performance, netting a hat-trick as Galatasaray cruised to a commanding 4-0 victory over Antalyaspor on Friday night.
Spanish forward Álvaro Morata also got on the scoresheet, converting a penalty to seal an emphatic win for the league leaders.
Osimhen opened the scoring at Rams Park in the 30th minute, finishing off an assist from Morata to give Galatasaray the lead. Morata then doubled the advantage from the penalty spot just before halftime.
Deep into first-half injury time, Osimhen struck again, this time capitalizing on a precise pass from B. Yılmaz to put the game beyond Antalyaspor’s reach.
The Super Eagles forward completed his hat-trick in the 52nd minute, connecting with an assist from Y. Akgün, further cementing his reputation as one of the league’s most lethal finishers.
Osimhen’s latest heroics take his season’s tally to 20 league goals in 22 matches, making him the outright top scorer in the Turkish Süper Lig.
Since joining Galatasaray on loan from Napoli after the fourth game of the season, Osimhen has been in unstoppable form, amassing 26 goals and 5 assists in 30 appearances across all competitions.
Galatasaray’s dominant display ensures they remain firmly at the top of the Süper Lig standings. Before this match, they had accumulated 68 points from 26 matches, remaining unbeaten with 21 wins and 5 draws.
Their closest challengers, Fenerbahçe, had 61 points from 25 games, but with this latest win, Galatasaray extend their lead to 71 points, further strengthening their title ambitions.
