The Global Industry Standard in Oil and Gas Safety, Skills, and Competence OPITO and The Engineering Construction Industry Training Board ECITB on Thursday the 30th of November extended the deadline for the ongoing Oil and Gas Technical Apprenticeship Program (OGTAP) recruitment application by one month.
The online application portal, which opened on Sunday, October 1, and was initially scheduled to close on Thursday, November 30th, will now close on Sunday, December 31, 2023, due to the extension. visit https://opito.ng/
The extension would enable applicants having challenges with the process to complete their application.
This will enable applicants who are yet to complete their application process to do so and those interested but yet to sign up to also take advantage of the extra days to fill their application on the portal visit www.ogtap.com/apply
The Oil and Gas Technical Apprentice Programme (OGTAP), managed by OPITO and the ECITB, is recognised as one of the most successful apprenticeship schemes of its kind.
Established in 1999, the scheme continues to grow in stature and offers a reputable learning experience whilst providing the oil and gas industry with suitably skilled, trained and motivated technicians.
OGTAP apprentices have the opportunity to gain recognised qualifications, combined with practical training hosted by OGTAP sponsoring companies.
The program is offered in four key disciplines:
Electrical Maintenance
Mechanical Maintenance
Process Operations
Instrumentation and Control Maintenance
Successful applicants in the scheme will be offered a scholarship visa to attend an industry-appointed college for 21 months, after college, OGTAP apprentices will then spend two years with a sponsoring energy company where they will receive expert training and mentoring, gaining industry-specific skills in their discipline
