NYSC swears in Corps members nationwide

The National Youths Corps Members (NYSC) on Friday conducted its swearing-in ceremony for the 2023 Batch “B” Stream II Corps members nationwide.

In Lagos, the Coordinator of NYSC, Mrs Yetunde Baderinwa appealed to the corps members deployed to the state to take caution following the recent warning by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), that Lagos and 19 other states may likely experience heavy rainfall that could lead to flooding.

In a message to the event, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu assured corps members that the state government has put necessary machinery in place to keep them safe throughout the three weeks Orientation course.

Similarly, Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state said his administration will continue to give priority to security and welfare of Corps members in the state.

Meanwhile, Zamfara State Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Alhaji Tasiu Musa said the Government has approved the contract for the renovation of NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Tsafe local government area.

Alhaji Tasiu who represented Governor Dauda Lawal at the swearing in ceremony directed the Agency to make necessary arrangement for the immediate implementation of the project.

The Yobe state Governor represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Wealth creation, Economic Empowerment and Employment Generation Abdullahi Bego said security agencies and community leaders have been directed to ensure conducive environment was created for the corps members.

In Imo state, Governor Hope Uzodimma advised the 2023 Batch B (Stream ll) National Youth Service Corps members posted to the state to be dedicated and contribute meaningfully towards the development of the state.

He admonished them to embrace hard work and noted that the state would always reward corps members who distinguished themselves during the service year.

In Kwara State, a total of 1,387 corps members were registered and administered oath of allegiance by the Chief Judge of Kwara State, Justice Abiodun Adebara.
